Sustainability Social standards

Social standards

Our core values commit us to transparent, reliable, ethical and tradition-conscious action. We are ambassadors for the retail industry!

Fair working conditions are important to us. We do not allow any of our suppliers to engage in forced labour, child labour or any other form of exploitation of the environment, humans or animals.

As a matter of principle, we now prefer to work only with companies in Asia that have an internationally recognised certificate (SA 8000, Sedex, BSCI or similar), undergo regular and unannounced inspections by independent inspection bodies and support continuous improvements in the various areas.

Thanks to our decades of know-how in dealing with Asian manufacturing countries, we have been accompanying suppliers and their factories in India and Bangladesh on their way to more occupational safety and social responsibility for years.

We sensitise those responsible and support the companies in restructuring with our personal know-how. It is a matter of honour for our management to personally check compliance with and development of social standards on site on a regular basis.

We are strongly committed to sensitising both customers and our manufacturing partners to international guidelines and social standards.

The improvement of working conditions in the manufacturing countries requires on the one hand a cultural change on site, but on the other hand also the will of our customers to support and promote this development financially.

It has been shown time and again that companies that have successfully implemented social standards offer qualitatively more sustainable products, service and support, because they can rely on long-term, loyal employees.

This in turn benefits our customers throughout Europe, who receive a high-quality, flawless product manufactured under humane conditions for many years.
